π’ Who Cegecom is
Cegecom SA was founded in 1998 as the first company to compete with POST on voice services in Luxembourg. Today it is part of the Artelis Group, majority-owned by VSE AG, a German utility and telecom group based in SaarbrΓΌcken.
The company operates its own fibre optic network spanning more than 1,500 km across Luxembourg, Germany, France, and Belgium. This network independence sets Cegecom apart from operators that lease infrastructure from the national incumbent.
In 2025 and 2026, Cegecom became the first Luxembourg operator certified for Microsoft Teams Operator Connect, in partnership with Microsoft and AudioCodes. It serves B2B customers only, not residential or retail.
π¦ What Cegecom offers
Three distinct telephony products plus connectivity services, all targeting the mid-market and enterprise B2B segment.

A dedicated platform for medium and large businesses, supporting up to 1,500 extensions. Deployment follows three phases: audit, parallel installation, coordinated switchover. Requires Cisco QoS-enabled switches at customer premises.
π₯οΈ Managed Com Business
Runs on shared infrastructure, aimed at smaller businesses. Supports smartphones (Android and iOS), WiFi phones, and existing desk phones. No upfront hardware investment. Migration is fully managed by Cegecom.
π Teams Operator Connect
Connects Microsoft Teams directly to the Luxembourg phone network. No additional hardware required. Cegecom was the first Luxembourg operator certified for this service.
π Fibre connectivity
Own 1,500+ km fibre network spanning LU, DE, FR, BE. Includes the low-latency Luxembourg-to-Frankfurt route used by financial services firms. Internal calls between Greater Region sites are included.

π₯ Typical client profiles
Cegecom targets small and medium-sized businesses and larger enterprises, exclusively in B2B.
π¦ Financial services firms
Banks, funds, law firms, and insurance companies needing the low-latency Luxembourg-to-Frankfurt fibre route. Network performance is a procurement requirement, not a nice-to-have.
π Businesses operating across the Greater Region
Companies with offices in LU, DE, FR, or BE. Cegecom's own fibre network spans all four countries with internal calls included at no extra cost.
πΌ Microsoft 365-standardised organisations
Companies already moving toward Teams as their primary communication interface. Teams Operator Connect removes the hardware and configuration burden of Direct Routing setups.
π’ Mid-market and enterprise (up to 1,500 extensions)
Organisations that need a dedicated platform with tiered SLAs and structured deployment, rather than a shared cloud product.
π― Where Cegecom stands apart
Three positioning points that the comparison table above does not fully capture.
π― Microsoft Teams Operator Connect certification
First Luxembourg operator certified by Microsoft for Operator Connect. Businesses standardising on Teams get direct integration without SBC hardware or third-party aggregators.
π°οΈ Own 1,500 km fibre network
Independent network infrastructure across LU, DE, FR, BE. Internal calls between Greater Region sites are included at no extra cost, and the LU-to-Frankfurt low-latency route is a genuine differentiator for financial services.
π’ B2B-only focus
Unlike POST, Tango, or Orange, Cegecom has no residential or retail business. Every resource and every contract is oriented to business customers. For enterprises that value operator focus, this matters.

β Common questions
Does Cegecom publish its prices?
No. Cegecom does not publish pricing for Managed Com Corporate, Managed Com Business, or Teams Operator Connect. All plans require a quote from the sales team. This is common for enterprise telecom contracts but makes it harder to compare costs upfront.
What is the difference between Managed Com Corporate and Managed Com Business?
Managed Com Corporate runs on a dedicated platform and supports up to 1,500 extensions. It uses a structured three-phase deployment process and requires Cisco QoS switches at your premises. Managed Com Business runs on shared infrastructure, supports WiFi phones and smartphones, and is simpler to deploy. Corporate is designed for medium and larger businesses; Business is aimed at smaller companies.
What is Microsoft Teams Operator Connect?
Operator Connect is a certification programme from Microsoft that lets business phone operators integrate directly with Microsoft Teams. When your operator is certified, you can make and receive external calls through the Teams interface without additional SBC hardware. Cegecom is the first Luxembourg operator to hold this certification.
Can I port my existing number to or from Cegecom?
Yes. Number portability is regulated in Luxembourg by the ILR. You can port your existing numbers to Cegecom, and you can port away from Cegecom to another operator. On the Corporate tier, porting away may also require changes to your connectivity setup if you use Cegecom's dedicated lines.
Does Cegecom offer call recording?
Call recording is not mentioned in Cegecom's published product documentation for either Managed Com Corporate or Managed Com Business. If this feature is important to your business, confirm directly with Cegecom before signing a contract.
How long does it take to switch to Cegecom?
For Managed Com Corporate, Cegecom follows a three-phase process: an initial audit of your current setup, a parallel installation, and a coordinated switchover. This is thorough but takes longer than a standard cloud deployment. The Business tier is faster, with migration fully managed by Cegecom.
