Mixvoip vs Visual Online: Business Phone Systems Compared
by PBX.lu Editorial on June 30, 2026
Two Luxembourg operators, two different routes to a cloud phone system. Visual Online sells a Mitel-based Cloud PBX with public per-user pricing, backed by POST Luxembourg. Mixvoip sells Voxbi, its own platform, also with public pricing. This guide compares the two on price, platform, features and fit. The figures below are each provider's published prices, excluding VAT.
The two companies at a glance
Cloud PBX is a phone system run from a provider's data centre. You pay a monthly fee per user, and the provider handles the servers, updates and security.
Visual Online (VO) has operated in Luxembourg since 1996 and is 51% owned by POST Luxembourg. It sells internet, Cloud PBX, SIP trunking, hosting and the VOtv television service from one local supplier. Its Cloud PBX runs on the Mitel MiVoice platform with MiCollab software, scaling to 250 users. VO runs its own data centre in Contern and is a regulated Luxembourg operator.
Mixvoip is Luxembourg's second-largest fixed-line operator by direct minutes. Its Cloud PBX, Voxbi, is built and hosted in Europe and runs on Windows, macOS, the browser and mobile. Alongside it, Mixvoip provides internet, SIP trunking, business mobile, IT and security across Luxembourg, Belgium, France and Germany. Voxbi runs over any business internet, so you can keep your current line.
Pricing compared, tier by tier
Both providers publish prices, which is uncommon in Luxembourg, but they price in different ways. Visual Online charges a higher per-user seat, with calls metered by destination and equipment billed separately. Voxbi charges a low per-user seat, then bills phone numbers and calls on top, with no flat-rate call bundle. So the fair test is total monthly cost for your team size and call volume, not the headline seat. All figures exclude VAT.
💶 Visual Online's tiers. Four per-user monthly tiers, with calls metered by destination and equipment separate: Basic Voice 5.00 EUR, Entry Voice 7.00 EUR, Standard Voice 9.00 EUR, Standard Plus Voice 11.00 EUR. The top tier adds call-centre queues (ACD) and CRM integration.
💶 Voxbi's per-user tiers. A free tier plus three paid tiers, with calls billed per minute and numbers added separately: Free 0 EUR for up to 3 users, Starter 1.20 EUR, Pro 2.90 EUR, Pro AI 3.10 EUR. Analytics, Odoo, Microsoft 365 and API access begin at the Pro tier.
💶 Voxbi Call Center and add-ons. For high call volumes, Voxbi Call Center is priced per channel at 14.50 EUR, from three channels up, rather than per user. Phone numbers start at 1.60 EUR each, and Microsoft Teams calling is a 50 EUR per month add-on.
🔍 How the two line up. The price books do not map one to one. Visual Online Basic at 5.00 EUR sits against Voxbi Starter at 1.20 EUR for basic telephony. For analytics, integrations and API, compare Visual Online Standard or Standard Plus at 9.00 to 11.00 EUR with Voxbi Pro at 2.90 EUR. For AI call analysis, Voxbi Pro AI at 3.10 EUR has no direct VO equivalent.
📊 The pricing takeaway. Voxbi's per-user seat is much lower, but its paid plans do not include a phone number, which start at 1.60 EUR each, or a call bundle, since calls are billed per minute. Visual Online's higher seat also excludes equipment and meters calls by destination, but bundles managed support. Add numbers, calls and support to each side before deciding.
💡 What the seat price does not include. On Voxbi paid plans: phone numbers from 1.60 EUR each, per-minute calls, and Microsoft Teams at 50 EUR per month. On Visual Online: handsets, installation, and a SIP trunk that is quote-only. Voxbi's listed plans are self-serve with email support, while Visual Online is advisor-led with support included. Both exclude VAT.
Platform and features
The core difference is who owns the platform. Visual Online resells Mitel, so its feature pace follows Mitel's roadmap. Mitel restructured under Chapter 11 in 2025 and is moving toward hybrid deployments. Mixvoip builds Voxbi itself, so feature changes come from the team that writes the code. Both are valid models. One trades control for a known enterprise brand, the other keeps the platform in-house.
On features, VO covers the essentials and more at the top tier: mobile and desktop softphones, a web client, auto attendant, voicemail with speech-to-text, call analytics, and ACD and CRM integration in Standard Plus. Voxbi documents a broad surface across all endpoints: IVR and queues, call recording, AI transcripts and call analysis, Odoo and Microsoft 365 integration, and a public API. Analytics, integrations and the API begin at the Pro tier, AI call analysis sits on Pro AI, and Microsoft Teams calling is a paid add-on.
🔌 SIP trunk pricing: published versus quote-only
A SIP trunk is the line that carries calls between your phone system and the public network. Visual Online tailors SIP trunks through its sales team and does not publish a price. Mixvoip publishes SIP and per-destination call rates online. If you want to model the full cost before talking to anyone, published rates make that easier.
🔐 ISO 27001 and why procurement asks about it
ISO/IEC 27001 is an international standard for managing information security. Mixvoip holds it for its telephony services. No equivalent certification is published on Visual Online's sites as of June 2026, which is an evidence gap rather than a confirmed absence. If your auditor or insurer asks for a certificate, ask each provider directly.
🌍 One country or four
Visual Online is a Luxembourg operator and does not advertise its own regulated status in Belgium, France or Germany. Mixvoip is regulated across LU, BE, FR and DE and can place local numbers in all four under one tenant. For a Luxembourg-only office this makes little difference. For teams with cross-border staff or sites, it matters.
Where each one fits
✅ Choose Visual Online if you want one long-established, POST-backed local supplier for internet, phones, TV and hosting together, already take VO or POST fibre and want phones on the same invoice, are comfortable with a Mitel desk-phone estate, or value in-country data residency in VO's own Contern data centre.
✅ Choose Mixvoip if you want a phone platform owned by the provider with a visible roadmap, need deep Microsoft Teams, CRM or API integration and AI call insights, have staff or sites across Belgium, France or Germany under one system, want voice that survives an internet-provider change, or need an ISO 27001 supplier for procurement.
🧭 The deciding factor. It comes down to whether you treat telephony as one tile in a broad single-vendor local bundle, which favours Visual Online, or as a feature-rich product you optimise on its own, which favours Mixvoip. Both host in Luxembourg, both are ILR-regulated, and both let you keep your number.
Frequently asked questions
❓ Is Visual Online cheaper than Mixvoip?
On the seat alone, Voxbi is lower, with Starter at 1.20 EUR against VO Basic at 5.00 EUR. But Voxbi paid plans add phone numbers from 1.60 EUR each and per-minute calls, while VO bundles a higher seat with managed support and meters calls by destination. The cheaper option depends on your team size and call volume, so compare total monthly cost, not the headline seat.
❓ Can I keep my phone number if I switch?
Yes. Both are ILR-regulated Luxembourg operators, so number portability works in either direction under standard rules.
❓ Do I have to take internet from the same provider?
Visual Online markets internet and telephony as a combined offer. Voxbi runs over any business-grade internet, so you can keep your current provider and still use it.
